Description
NATO launches a new mission, the Baltic Sentry, to secure critical underwater infrastructure after suspected sabotage of sea cables. "We are monitoring everything that is happening," said Commander Erik Kockx, of the Belgian Navy. The goal of the mission is "to make sure that whichever unlawful action might be undertaken in this region will be seen." Two other ships, one French and the other one German, are involved in the same mission than HNLMS Luymes but Mr Kockx underlined that it was not only a question of a number of ships but above all the "quality of your sensors and the network of sensors" that would deter anybody who wants to undertake unlawful action against infrastructure.
