Description
A Ukrainian police evacuation team speeds down the road heading into the heavily damaged mining and transport hub Pokrovsk in the eastern Donetsk region, following a tipoff that there were still minors in the city. Dmytro, the local police officer in charge of the evacuation, says they still get calls about people keeping underaged children in the city - despite an order to leave. “I don't understand these parents. They are really putting their children in danger,” he says.
The evacuation team finds a 16 and 17-year-old still in town - the latter has epilepsy and was walking down the street - the police will try track down his father once they have evacuated him. The evacuation team had to convince 16-year-old Danil’s mum Natasha to evacuate, but eventually managed to persuade them to go as shelling in the city intensifies. Natasha cries as she admits she didn’t want to go. “My mother and husband stayed there. My mother is sick,” she says. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
