Description
People in Vietnam's capital Hanoi shop for kumquat and peach blossom trees ahead of the Lunar New Year celebrations, known as Tet in Vietnamese.
Kumquat trees are a symbol of prosperity and good fortune and are used to decorate homes. This year, however, their price has soared due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi which struck in September killing 300 people.
"Typhoon Yagi damaged the kumquat trees. Beautiful trees," market seller Truong Dinh Nam told AFP. "This year, the weather didn’t bring much rain, just that one storm and then mostly sunshine." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
