Description
US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) crew members clear hazardous and toxic waste from the rubble in Altadena, north of Los Angeles, marking the start of debris removal operations following the fire on January 8. "We want to be doing this right away before anyone comes to clean anything. We want to make sure it's safe for people to enter the property," explains Harry Allen, a member of the coordination team for the EPA. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
