Hundreds of police officers demonstrate in front of the National Assembly in Paris after a call by the Alliance police union to "defend the profession" and the "resources" of the police force in the 2025 French government budget. French Prime minister Francois Bayrou has been under pressure to pass a sustainable budget plan after the austerity budget proposal of his predecessor, Michel Barnier, was rejected along with his government in December.
