Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau announces that more than twice as much cocaine was seized in France in 2024 than in 2023 during a press conference on the fight against drug use and trafficking. A total of 53.5 tonnes of cocaine were seized by French authorities in 2024, marking a 130% increase compared to the previous year, according to final figures released by the Interior Ministry. Seizures of synthetic drugs are also on the rise: more than 9 million ecstasy and MDMA tablets were seized (+123% compared to 2023), along with 618 kg of amphetamines and methamphetamines (+133%).
