"The demand for cocaine has never been so high with 1.1 million people in our country having used it at least once in 2023," says French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau at the launch of an awareness-raising campaign aimed at drug users. Cocaine use in France has nearly doubled and consumption of hard drugs like heroin and ecstasy is also rising, a study said last month.
