"We estimate that about 800 people per month are currently passing through," explains Lucie Bortayrou, president of the Diakite association, as the city of Bayonne (in the Pyrenees-Atlantiques region) sees migrants arriving daily from Irun, a Spanish border town located 30 kilometers away.Of sub-Saharan origin, these exiles are passing through the Basque Country, the vast majority aiming for the French capital as their final destination.
