Two officials from the party of Ivory Coast's former president Laurent Gbagbo, the African People's Party of Cote d'Ivoire (PPA-CI) are jailed for 10 years in two separate cases for "endangering state security". Damana Pickass, an official in Gbagbo's African People's Party (PPA-CI) was found guilty with four co-defendants of "endangering state security, attacking state authority, participating in mercenary activity and criminal association". In a second case, another PPA-CI official, Justin Koua, who formerly headed the pro-Gbagbo youth movement, was accused of having taken part in protests in 2020 against the third term of current President Alassane Ouattara and was found guilty of "endangering state security", "disturbing public order" and "illegal possession of weapons".
