Ben Barry, Senior Fellow for Land Warfare at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, says that Russia is likely to continue with the current trend of slow territorial gains in Ukraine over the course of the year. He believes prospects for peace are slim, with it being "politically extremely difficult for President Zelensky or indeed any other Ukrainian president or politician" to accept Putin's public war aims.
