Description
Engineer turned social entrepreneur Sabri Cheriha hunches over a washing machine at a small depot in a suburb of Tunisia's capital, the unassuming home of a startup he launched to tackle the country's mounting electronic waste problem. "There are 8 million household appliances and more than 9 million cell phones in Tunisia. Unfortunately, there is no service that allows you to dispose of your appliances. Sometimes we find them in the street or in a square or in front of houses or in the trash. You should know that in Tunisia, there is no recycling policy. We use landfills for everything," explains Cheriha. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES
