With less than a third of its vast territory lacking internet access, Niger is counting on US billionaire Elon Musk's Starlink to bridge the digital divide. The Sahel nation's military rulers have granted the satellite broadband company a five-year contract to provide high-speed service--one of around 15 African countries to have authorised the use of Starlink's thousands of satellites on their territory.
