Around one hundred supporters of the far-right AfD party and one of its MPs Beatrix von Storch gather outside a shopping centre in the Lichtenberg district of north-east Berlin to attend one of the party's last election rallies on the eve of Germany's general election. The vote looks set to deliver a historic result for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), which has been polling in second place on around 20 percent. Held back by police barricades a few dozen metres from the election rally, around 200 counter-demonstrators gathered to demonstrate against the AfD, holding up banners reading "refugees welcome" or "Stand up against racism".
