Description
Hundreds of Congolese police officers and soldiers arrive in the DR Congo's Goma from Bukavu. They were 'recruited' by the M23 movement, which has taken over two major cities in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo in recent weeks. These new 'recruits' are going to "undergo ideological training, they will undergo specialised military and police training", explains spokesman Oscar Balinda, adding, "they can now protect the population without discrimination and be the guarantors of national unity".
AFP is not able to independently verify whether these Congolese police officers and soldiers have joined M23 voluntarily. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
