Description
As the UK prepares to celebrate 250 years since the birth of Jane Austen, tourists in the southwestern city of Bath don Regency-era clothing, pose longingly next to a life-size "Mr Darcy", and stroll through the elegant Georgian streets which once inspired the literary icon. Austen's novels "Persuasion" and "Northanger Abbey" are set in the city, where she lived for several years and which holds an annual 10-day Jane Austen Festival in September. "This year is going to be very special," says Lauren Falconer, a guide at the Jane Austen Centre. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES ARRANGED IN SEQUENCES
