Stockshots of a France Travail agency on the outskirts of Paris, after private salaried employment in France fell by 0.3% in the fourth quarter of 2024, with a loss of 68,000 jobs, INSEE (the National Institute of Statistics) reported on Friday, February 28, revising its initial estimate of a limited fall of 0.2%, or 50,100 jobs lost. Salaried employment in the public sector declined by 0.4% over the same period, with 22,100 jobs lost, following eight consecutive quarters of growth, according to the INSEE.
