In a worn-out classroom in eastern Sudan's Port Sudan, men and women watch attentively from a wood bench as a teacher scribbles Arabic letters on a faded blackboard. They're attending a class led by the school's founder Amna Mohamed Ahmed, who has spent the last three decades helping hundreds return to their education after observing widespread illiteracy in her community.
