Germany's likely next chancellor Friedrich Merz says that he would support the immediate approval of a three-billion-euro aid package for Ukraine which has been held up in parliament for weeks. In a press conference, Merz says he is to meet outgoing Chancellor Olaf Scholz tomorrow to speak "about the urgent help needed for Ukraine, around 3.0 or 3.5 billion euros". SOUNDBITE
