Saul Luciano Lliuya, the Peruvian farmer who sued the energy giant RWE in a German court over the melting of glaciers in the Andes, says that he has "full confidence" in a case he considers a "unique" example of global climate justice.
Lliuya, a 44-year-old mountain guide, has been summoned to hearings scheduled for March 17 and 19 by the regional court of Hamm (North Rhine-Westphalia), which is handling the lawsuit.
"This case is a unique case. I have full confidence in these processes," Lliuya says at a press conference with foreign correspondents in Lima before his departure. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
