Injured Syrians that took shelter in the Russian military air base of Hmeimim are transported in Red Crescent ambulances to receive treatment at hospitals in Latakia. "We came today with a delegation from Latakia in order to convey a message to the people sheltering inside the Hmeimim base that the situation outside is now safe as security forces have started deploying and are asserting their control," says Jableh mayor Amjad Sultan from outside the base.
