As South Africa's budget is tabled in parliament, as protestors outside make their views known on the proposed increase in the value-added tax (VAT). The ruling ANC party is already at odds on the budget with some coalition partners in the government of national unity."The Democratic Alliance will not be supporting the budget in its current form," says DA party leader and current minister of agriculture, John Steenhuisen, adding that the government needs to "move beyond just tax and spend."
