Stargazers gather at the Manuel Foster Observatory in Santiago, Chile, to view the red "Blood Moon" during a rare total lunar eclipse.
"They are very exciting phenomena, since they allow us to reconnect a little bit with the more romantic side of astronomy that motivated us to study it," says Simon Angel, Director of Scientific Activities at Manuel Foster Observatory. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
