Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky claims it is "Putin's lie" that Ukrainian troops are encircled in Russia's Kursk region, where Moscow has regained swathes of land this week. "There is no Ukrainian military encirclement in the Kursk region," Zelensky says in Kyiv after US leader Donald Trump asked Russia's Vladimir Putin on social media to spare the lives of Ukrainian troops that he said were "completely surrounded" by the Russian army.
