Description
Jorge Rodriguez, President of the Venezuelan Parliament, labels the detention of deported Venezuelan migrants from the United States in El Salvador, a "crime against humanity" and says the government will push for their repatriation.
The United States sent 238 Venezuelans accused of belonging to the feared Tren de Aragua criminal gang to a Salvadoran maximum security prison after President Donald Trump invoked a more than 200-year-old law that allows for expulsions of “external enemies” without trial.
"They are kidnapping Venezuelan migrants and expelling them from the United States of America without adhering to any of the requirements or the prerogatives established in the conventions on the rights of migrants," claims Rodriguez, adding "the alleged American dream turned Salvadoran nightmare is not worth it."
