Iranians light fireworks and dance around fire in Tehran during the Fire Festival, or 'Chaharshanbeh Soori', celebrated annually on the eve of the last Tuesday of the year before the Spring holiday of Nowruz. The Iranian new year that begins on March 21 coincides with the first day of spring during which locals revive the Zoroastrian celebration of lighting a fire and dancing around the flame.
