A mother of an Israeli woman kidnapped by Hamas militants earlier this month made an emotional appeal on Tuesday for the release of her daughter. The family of 21-year-old Mia Schem spoke to journalists after Hamas’ military wing released a video showing Schem having her arm wrapped with bandages. The family confirmed it was Mia Schem who was taken from Kibbutz Reim, where she was attending a rave. "I didn't know if she's dead or alive until yesterday," said her mother Keren Schem. The Israeli military said on Monday at least 199 hostages were taken into Gaza, more than previously estimated.
