Protesters gathered in several cities after Israel declared war and intensified airstrikes in Gaza to retaliate against Hamas’ attacks. In Pakistan, demonstrators took to the streets of Karachi to protest against Israel and to show support to the Palestinians. In Baghdad, Iraqi protesters set fire to the flags of Israel and the U.S. as an act of solidarity with Hamas. In Jordan's capital, Amman, about 800 pro-Palestinian protesters gathered outside a mosque in support of Hamas' operation against Israel. More than 1,100 people from both sides have been killed as Israel continued retaliatory bombardments of the Gaza Strip after Hamas’ attacks.
