One person was killed and five others were wounded in a shooting at a warehouse in New Albany Tuesday night. New Albany Police Chief Greg Jones said that all of the victims were employees of the KDC/One facility at 8825 Smiths Mill Rd. The suspect, 28-year-old Bruce Reginald Foster III, was located in Columbus and taken into custody approximately 12 hours after the deadly shooting. What is KDC/One? KDC/One is a global manufacturing company based in Quebec that makes products including cosmetics and toiletries. Some of the products include cleansers, shampoos, body washes and zero-waste cleaners. KDC/One employs nearly 15,000 people and operates 25 manufacturing facilities across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America. The company has two locations in central Ohio: New Albany and Groveport. What happened at the New Albany, Ohio facility? Jones said Foster had been at work “for some time” before the shooting, which happened around 10:30 p.m. He added that there were no reports of any confrontation dispute beforehand. The wounded shooting victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The sixth victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Jones said a camera at the building caught Foster leaving the area in a car. He also noted that Foster did not drive. Law enforcement officers spent several hours checking different addresses that were connected to Foster. Authorities issued an arrest warrant, charging him with aggravated murder. Foster was found in an apartment on East 7th Avenue in Columbus and apprehended around 10 a.m. Tuesday. He was taken to the New Albany Police Department. Police are working to determine a motive behind the shooting. 10TV reached out to KDC/One for a statement on the incident, but has not heard back.
