Widespread rain from earlier this morning will continue to taper down through the morning, but our rain isn't over yet. Scattered rain and some storms will be with us through the afternoon. Winds will pick up this afternoon. Southerly winds will be between 15 and 25 mph. Wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible.
Therefore, the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the 10TV viewing area through 11 p.m. This could blow around unsecured objects, create scattered power outages and minor tree damage. High profile vehicles will also feel these winds, especially driving west to east or east to west.
High temperatures will still be well above seasonable norms, with highs peaking in the low 60s early this afternoon.
The window of time for severe weather is between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. This is when isolated storms could become strong to severe. The main threat from any stronger storm is damaging wind gusts. There is also enough spin in the atmosphere that we could have an isolated tornado. The severe threat will end after sunset.
Rain chances taper down through this evening, with some lingering showers mainly north of Columbus. Some wet flakes may mix in overnight, but no snow accumulation is expected, and roads will remain wet. Rainfall totals will be around one inch, with higher amounts along and west of I-71.
