Description
I-94 near Sprinkle Road was closed Thursday morning after a box truck hit emergency vehicles.
Comstock Fire Department and the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office were on the scene of a rollover crash on eastbound I-94 near Sprinkle Road.
While working the original crash, a 24-foot box truck lost control, hitting three Comstock Fire vehicles and a Kalamazoo County Sheriff cruiser before rolling over and coming to a rest, according to officials.
"There's a lot of damage to the fire equipment," Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller said. "One of our police cruisers has received a pretty good amount of damage. In the end, we're just happy that no people were hurt."
No first responders were injured from the crash, and no injuries were reported from the initial crash.
The box truck driver, however, sustained minor injuries, according to officers. He was transported to a hospital for treatment.
Eastbound I-94 was closed at Sprinkle Road while wrecker crews cleared the highway, but has since reopened.
"Everyone appears to be unhurt, rattled maybe a little bit, but the good thing is you get to go home from being rattled," Fuller said.
Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office posted dashcam video of the crash on its social media pages.
