Description
Both Ohio State and Michigan have strong run games but the Buckeyes are a bigger threat to air it out.
PREVIEW:
It's one game that is 364 days in the making.
Another year has passed, which means it's time for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines to meet once again.
No. 2 Ohio State is entering "The Game" with a 10-1 record, with their only loss coming to now No. 1 ranked Oregon. They have taken down two top 5 teams this season, Indiana and Penn State.
The defending national champion Wolverines have a 6-5 record and currently sit in the middle of the Big Ten Conference standings. Earlier this season, Michigan fell out of the AP Top 25 for the first time since week two of the 2021 season.
The Buckeyes are looking to break their three-year losing streak against "That Team Up North" with this year's game at the 'Shoe.
Michigan has the edge with a 61-51-6 record all-time over Ohio State.
Head coach Ryan Day is just 1-3 against Michigan.
In his postgame interview after the team's win over Indiana, Day said that once the clock hit triple zeroes, it was on to the rivalry game.
"We know what's coming and how important this week is for everybody in the state of Ohio and Buckeye Nation and most importantly our team," Day said.
The last time Michigan beat Ohio State in Columbus was in 2022 when they handed the Buckeyes their first home loss to TTUN since 2000. The Buckeyes had the lead heading into halftime 20-17, but only mustered three points the rest of the game. Meanwhile, Michigan used a combination of explosive touchdown runs and Ohio State turnovers to beat the Buckeyes 45-23.
With a win, Ohio State will earn a trip to the Big Ten championship game for the first time since 2020 and get a rematch with Oregon.
