A Weather Impact Day has been issued today as extreme heat is expected once again. Heat Advisories have been issued through the end of the day as the risk of heat related illness will be high through the hottest hours of 11a-7p. Our dome of high pressure, which is responsible for the heat, will shift southward by Thursday, allowing us to cool down by tomorrow. This change in the weather pattern will be accompanied by a change in the wind direction, which will lower the humidity. Showers return to the forecast area today, but they will be hit and miss. The highest likelihood of showers will be during the late evening hours. A few storms may contain hail and/or damaging winds.
