Hopefully you all enjoyed the cool and quiet weekend, sort of... Temperatures this weekend were already rising into 90s but they will feel pretty cool when we look at the heat headed our way this week. Temperatures are rising from the 70s this morning back into the 90s this afternoon. Today will be warmer than yesterday but cooler than Tuesday. Highs will be in the middle 90s with dew points making it feel more like the upper 90s. There is a small chance for an isolated thunderstorm or two but most of us will stay dry this afternoon. Tomorrow will look a lot like today, but just a little bit warmer. Temperatures climb into the upper 90s and humidity makes it feel more like 100+. There is a better chance for thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday thanks to that extra heat and humidity. With this heat and humidity combination it will make it hard for your body to cool down by sweating so make sure you are taking precautions. Take breaks inside when you can, ideally 15 minutes inside for every hour of strenuous activity you do outside. If you can, do any strenuous tasks earlier in the day or late in the evening. Make sure you are hydrating before, during and after any outdoor activities. Make sure you know the signs and symptoms of heat related illness.
