Description
The Arkansas National Guard says a crew took pictures and videos of the solar eclipse during a training flight over central Arkansas on Monday. The crew took off in a C-130H plane while it was light outside and was able to take pictures as the eclipse reached totality.
Almost everyone in North America was guaranteed at least a partial eclipse, weather permitting. Arkansas and northeast New England were the best bets in the U.S., going into Monday's spectacle. New Brunswick and Newfoundland in Canada also looked promising.
It was the continent’s biggest eclipse audience ever, with a couple hundred million people living in or near the shadow’s path, plus scores of out-of-towners flocking in.
