January 12, 1967 A recurring problem at the harbor has been the accumulation of silt which chokes the entrance and creates hazardous conditions for small boat operators. A dredging operation last spring has cleared up the problem of r the present, but more sand is expected next spring and summer. Yesterday, harbor directors sent in a request to Congress for funds to study the problem.
