Description
San Diego County — along with the greater Southwestern United States — has been dealing with a particularly dangerous wind event. The concerns will not let up into Friday as Santa Ana winds strengthen again amid critical fire danger. Offshore, dry winds calmed by Thursday morning and afternoon, but they will pick up again to speeds between 20 and 40 mph at times with gusts up to 70 mph with most intense gusts expected across local mountain ranges. With dry conditions through the last several months, fire crews remain on high alert as humidity drops even more, and the possibility of down trees and power lines loom.
