Description
April 29, 1963 Chula Vista High School students held their fourth annual nominating convention today. It's patterned after the national political conventions, and purpose is to narrow down the field of eligible candidates for student body elected offices. The entire student body will elect officers next Thursday. The students go all-out to make this as realistic as possible and the chairman has to be a good man with the gavel to hold things under control. Primary purpose of the activity is to instruct students in the function of nominating conventions in the American political process. And there's no better way than exposing him to a day like this.
