San Diego Gas & Electric on Tuesday announced it may have to cut power to more than 24,700 customers in the county's back country as early as Wednesday morning as extremely dry and blustery weather has created acute fire hazards across San Diego County this week. The San Diego County Office of Education also reported that due to high winds schools in the Mountain Empire Unified School District will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
