Construction is underway on the first ever, new car dealership to be built in the City of Santee. A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday, September 18 at Sedano Chevrolet on Mission Gorge Road. The owner, Manny Sedano, is an East County native and a military veteran. He said the dealership will bring in more than $100 million in revenue and create more than 100 new jobs. "It invites people to pay attention to Santee. It’s doing wonderful things here in the city. We love the growth that it's contained and it's smart growth and I want to be part of that,” said Sedano. The dealership is expected to open sometime next fall.
