Scripps Health is celebrating a century of keeping San Diegans healthy. One hundred years ago today Scripps Memorial Hospital first opened its doors on Prospect Street in La Jolla. It's now on Genesee Avenue. That's where healthcare workers and local leaders gathered to celebrate today. San Diego mayor Todd Gloria also shared a proclamation... designating today as "Scripps Health Day" in San Diego. We're told cake and pineapple punch were served -- the same refreshments served a century ago at the original hospital's grand opening.
