Description
A vegetation fire that started around 12:30 p.m. in Riverside County on Monday prompted evacuation orders and warnings as nearly 1,000 acres burned.
Smoke from the Nixon Fire at Tule Valley Road / Richard Nixon Blvd., Aguanga could be seen from San Diego County Monday afternoon.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to Cal Fire. As of Monday afternoon, 205 personnel, two helicopters, 24 engines and two dozers had been assigned to the fire.
