Doctors and lifeguards said there's an uptick in stingray injuries at San Diego beaches in the summer months. Summer in San Diego brings tourists, sunny weather and flocks of people to the beaches. More people are getting stung because there are more people in the ocean this time of year. "What we’re usually seeing is just more people in the water, enjoying the ocean, enjoying the beach, more feet on the bottom of the sea where the stingrays are is going to result in more feet getting in contact with the stingrays and getting stung," Dr. William Bianchi with Sharp Coronado Hospital said.
