July 4, 1957
La Jolla Cove. A couple of new records set today in San Diego. It was the hottest July 4th since 1907 with a sizzling 89 degrees and a record number of persons at all of the beaches. City lifeguards estimated that there were over 30,000 sunning themselves. Lifeguards were busy pulling victims from the water, making 15 rescues at the city beaches. Mission Bay water skiing.
