September 19, 1966
Veterans of World War 1 opened their annual national convention in San Diego yesterday. Delegates from all over the country filled the main floor of the Community Concourse Convention Hall to hear national Vice-Commander William Walker offer the welcoming talk. There are about 7500 delegates here along with about 2500 members of the auxiliary. Several resolutions are scheduled for action such as supporting the U-S position in Vietnam, requesting another federal cemetery in Southern California, and several resolutions dealing with benefits for veterans of the World War 1. Congressman William Jennings Bryan Dorn of South Carolina will give the keynote address at tonight’s banquet
