Description
The Second Annual Harriet Tubman Freedom Bird Walk recognized the role of nature in the underground railroad and finding freedom. It was hosted by the WorldBeat Center, a nonprofit multi-cultural arts organization, in collaboration with the Celebrate Urban Birds Project and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
The event included a bird walk, reflection on the significance of Juneteenth and discussion about the importance of Black heritage flags. It also featured poetry and a drum circle.
