Description
The San Diego City Council is scheduled to vote Tuesday on Mayor Todd Gloria's proposed $5.8 billion budget for the next fiscal year, which includes money for the proposed mega-shelter at Kettner and Vine.
"We've got to see every single detail about the 1,000 bed shelter, every detail matters," said Council Member Raul Campillo after Monday's closed session meeting, which included discussion about the lease terms for the shelter.
"What happens in closed session is confidential, can't talk about that. I'm interested to see what the final deal will be before I make up my mind," he added.
A yes vote from the council on the mayor's budget wouldn't mean the shelter is a done deal. There would still need to be separate hearings on it. However, should the council approve the money set aside for the shelter, it would be a step forward.
