Description
Hot weather is arriving early across Southern California this week as excessive heat builds across a good portion of the Southwestern U.S. An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for San Diego County deserts with daytime highs ranging from 108 to 113 degrees each afternoon through Friday evening.
The hottest days are expected to be on Thursday and Friday. This all comes as a ridge of high pressure expands overhead, encouraging drier, warmer, and clearer conditions.
In San Diego County, coastal clouds will persist as the marine layer rebuilds each morning and evening and continue to keep temperatures around normal. Clouds have extended to the valley floors this morning and will slowly pull back each morning/midday. Daytime highs will peak near to slightly above seasonal with low 70s at the coast and upper 70s to low 80s across the inland valleys.
