Meet Makayla | Makayla spent the first two months of her life in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit after being diagnosed with a rare condition caused by a combination of four heart defects. Makayla went through 3 open heart surgeries before her first birthday. CBS 8 is working with Rady Children’s to help raise much-needed funds to launch a Resident Canine Therapy Program to help ease the pain and suffering of children who are patients at Rady Children’s Hospital.
