Almost 40 years ago, two San Diego police officers lost their lives while on a call in South Park. Now, residents want to memorialize them in the very park where it all happened. Officer Tonahill's best friend said she got the idea for some kind of memorial last year, when she visited the Grape Street Dog Park for the 39th anniversary of her friend's death. She said it's all in the early stages, but it's something she wants to see happen by the 40th anniversary this September.
