Description
A Mission Valley resident posted to the Nextdoor app saying someone has sprinkled rat poison throughout Fiesta Island Dog Park and it killed her dog. People throughout San Diego County soon took to social media, spreading a warning for all dog owners to avoid the area.
CBS 8 is Working for You to find out whether there is poison sprinkled across the beach or if the unfortunate dog death is an isolated incident.
Nina Thompson with San Diego Humane Society said they are aware of the posts circulating on social media and have received calls from concerned community members.
"As of now, our Humane Law Enforcement Dispatch has not received any reports of dogs becoming sick as a result of poisoning on Fiesta Island. We urge individuals with direct information regarding the alleged incidents to call us at 619-299-7012 (press 1 for Dispatch)," she said in a statement.
